Go Forward. Go Stronger.

Charley L. Dickey, Independent Business Consultant

Charley DickeyI was born in Nebraska and after short effort at Platte Community College, I enlisted in the USAF in 1971 and served 2 years as a medic working in the Emergency Room and the hospital wards. The next 17 years were spent working for others and working up the corporate ladder. In 1988, I purchased my first company, a small print shop. Since then I have started and purchased more than a dozen businesses. Most were small businesses. I achieved some success with a company called Denali Ventures, Inc which did nationwide property services for HUD and several national banks. My company was a two time Inc. 500 company reaching 122nd and 69th in 2002 and 2003 respectively, of the fastest growing companies in the country and fastest in Wyoming for both years. After selling Denali Ventures, Inc., I invested in a huge real estate development in Texas in 2005. I bought 10 raw acres, proceeded to get it annexed, designed, developed and was the General contractor for a 64 unit condo project along the Colorado River in Mable Falls, Texas next to a resort community.

In 2008, I moved back to Cheyenne, WY to care for my parents. After a year, I met my wife, Kathleen George, owner of Rustic Mountain Charm the last 14 years, and moved to Estes Park in September of 2009. Together we have continued to work the business successfully and survive the many challenges that Estes Park offers. Because of the various business ventures I have had, I have an excellent, well rounded knowledge of general business and what it takes to be successful from startups to existing business and even to selling or exiting a business. I also am employed as a Business Consultant.

I have been active in many areas of the community. I have a passion for improving communications and the collaborative partnerships that have begun to form. Some of my involvement is listed below.

In addition to attending most Town Board meeting, I am currently on the EVPC Board, the DBP Board and the Editorial Board of the Trail-Gazette. I am also involved on the Towns Events Committee, Shuttle Committee, America (Estes Park) in Bloom, Paint Estes Pink, Association Forum, Rotary Duck Race Marketing committee and worked with the Fall River and Fish Creek Coalitions. I personally deliver posters to the downtown business when needed. I have been in every downtown business many times. I believe in “walking the talk” when it comes to collaboration and partnerships.
